Why is there no rushing wind, no tongues of fire dancing upon us during every Mass? Have you ever given sight to a blind person, cleansed a leper, or raised someone from the dead? Why not? Jesus said we would do all this and more, so why isn't our world awash with miracles? Many believe that the time of signs and wonders is over, but the Lord never ceased to show his Love and His Power through the miraculous. They believe that those miracles are no longer necessary, that the Holy Spirit is no longer necessary. It's as if somewhere along this pilgrim journey, we forgot what it means that the Holy Spirit is alive and dwelling within us.

But we live in a time where the Spirit is VERY necessary. The time of Christendom is over; we no longer live in a world where Christ is the center of our lives. We are living in an Apostolic Age, a time much like when the Apostles converted millions through the word of their testimony and displays of the Power of the Holy Spirit. We are called to do the same. We are missionary disciples sent forth by the Lord to bring the Good News to all corners of the world.

We have each been given gifts, gifts not for our benefit, but for the good of the Body of Christ. But how do we reach our full potential, if we do not know the Holy Spirit?
